This image was taken on a bright Spring afternoon at the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild situated on the narrowest part of the Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat peninsula on the French Riviera.

Born in 1864, Béatrice Ephrussi was the daughter of the banker and major art collector Baron Alphonse de Rothschild. Béatrice designed the French garden in the shape of a ship’s deck, decorated with waterfalls and ponds, with the Temple of Love at the bow. The Villa is surrounded by nine magnificent gardens complete with patios, waterfalls, ornamental ponds, flowerbeds, shady paths and rare species of trees...
